In order to create jobs and support economic development, Airborne Maintenance and Engineering Services (AMES) is the recipient of a $5.2 million incentive package. The company expects to create 430 new jobs within Ohio's logistics and aerospace industries by providing maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services to commercial airlines and corporate and private aircraft owners. It has been recently announced by the Ohio Department of Development that AMES will be the first new tenant of Wilmington Air Park which had previously been used as the national hub for DHL Express. Wilmington Air Park is the nation's largest privately owned airport. Other states had competed for the new AMS business, but Wilmington Air Park was chosen because of the central location, business-friendly policies, well-educated 21st century workforce, and great work-life balance. |
