Traffic Incident Management Performance Measures

The FHWA undertook an initiative in 2005 to improve performance measurement for Traffic Incident Management programs. This initiative involved transportation and law enforcement partners in eleven states. It sought to standardize definitions and looked for ways to link information in databases that those agencies maintained that enabled comprehensive assessments of program performance.
