2007 Traffic Signal Report Card

The National Transportation Operations Coalition will announce the national results of the 2007 National Traffic Signal Report Card on Tuesday October 9, at 9:30 a.m. ET in Freedom Plaza in Washington, D.C.

The mission of the Traffic Signal Report Card is to bring more attention to the need for effective traffic signal operations. The National Transportation Operations Coalition (NTOC), a group of transportation associations interested in improving transportation operations and the FHWA, updated the 2004 traffic signal operations self assessment survey and released it in November 2006, in preparation for the 2007 Traffic Signal Report Card. The FHWA funded the development of the self assessment tool and the National Report Card, although conduct of this work was guided by a committee of NTOC representatives, including the Institute of Transportation Engineers, American Association of State Highways and Transportation Officials, the American Public Works Association, ITS America and International Municipal Signal Association.
