Forecast of Freight Activity through 2020

According to the chart, 14,000,000,000 tons of international freight and 1,000,000 tons of domestic freight was transported in 1998. In 2010, FHWA predicts that 18,000,000,000 tons of international freight and 3,000,000 of domestic freight will be transported. In 2020, FHWA predicts that 22,000,000,000 tons of international freight and 4,000,000 tons of domestic freight will be transported.
