Description |
Hurricane Sandy caused significant logistical challenges for the oil and gasoline industry trying to deliver supplies to regional gasoline stations with low supply. Due to power failures at many terminals in the New York and New Jersey region as well as United States Coast Guard restrictions on movements within the New York Harbor, many vessels scheduled to call the Port of New York/New Jersey were not able to unload their cargo on schedule. More than a third of the regional oil demand is shipped through the New York region. |
