According to the Association for American Railroads, railroad traffic has significantly decreased. Compared to a year ago U.S railroad traffic fell 17.2 percent to 442,113 carloads and intermodal units. Commodity inventories that recorded decreases for the week include coal, nonmetallic minerals, petroleum and petroleum products, and motor vehicles and parts. |
